After a long break....

I finished my first commissioned crochet project. A friend contacted me after seeing my crochet items on facebook and wanted me to make a baby hat for her cousin that will be born in January. She wanted a beanie with bear ears. After many tries of getting the right length and width, this is what I came up with. I made my son model the hat. I think it looks pretty cute and my friend says it is perfect. She is a photographer and is going to use it for baby photos of her cousin. I can't wait to see them!!

Family Photo Update

Family photo with Rhys at 9 weeks...

More visitors and halloween

So we had another visitor the week before halloween. One of my best friends from college flew in for the weekend...

My parents came to visit the weekend of Halloween. Rhys was a pumpkin. My mother-in-law bought him a onesie with a jack o'lantern face on it and my aunts bought him a hat with the same. I think he is quite the handsome pumpkin. Here he is sitting with the pumpkin that D carved.

The bib says it all...

Family Photo

Here is our family photo taken when Rhys was 7 weeks old:

Dan and I need to lose our "baby weight." We are both in a wedding at the end of December...

G Diapers

So as not to contribute to landfills, D and I are trying out g-diapers on Rhys. We did use disposables until this week because Rhys was too small to fit into the small-sized "g pants." I am still trying to get used to them. The cotton insert is not cooperating with me and I have had change Rhys' clothes a few times today because they were wet. Those disposables are really convenient too with the strip that turns blue when the diaper is wet. Although, I don't really need the indicator. Rhys screams when his diaper is wet. We'll see how this goes over the next few weeks. I do have to say that his bum looks really adorable in the "g pants."

Many Visitors

Since bringing Rhys home from the hospital, he has had quite a few visitors...and one was a big surprise!

The day Rhys was born, my brother just happened to be in town visiting from NYC:

My parents came in when Rhys was a week old and my mom stayed to help me out for a week after D went back to work:

My mother-in-law came into town for a week when Rhys was 5 weeks old:

The big surprise came last weekend when Rhys' zia from Italy came to see him:

Next weekend I have a friend from college coming in and then my parents will be here for Halloween. Whew! It has been great to see everyone and the time is just flying! I can't believe that I only have 5 more weeks before I go back to work and then D will take over for 6 more weeks before Rhys goes to daycare. I'm taking one day at a time, so I don't have to think about that...
